This is the Monogram 1/48 EA-6B Prowler with the Cutting Edge exterior correction & wingfold set's and the Black Box cockpit. I built this kit back in 2001 for the Nat's being held in Chicago. One thing I can't say was this was an easy kit to build, the first thing I had to overcome was to try and get the cockpit to fit, I had to do a lot of grinding and test fitting before it would sit correctly, after the cockpit was completed and installed I assembled the fuselage. I really like the hard resin they use, I had to do a little grinding on the resin and plastic to get a good fit. Here I have to tell you about Meteor Productions customer support. While working on the wings I dropped one of the resin wings and it hit the desk and broke a couple of the hinge pieces off, I called them to see if I could purchase a new wing section, and they sent me a Complete wing set! Wow that's customer service, after the wings were done I rescribed the plastic to match the resin.
After all of the construction was done I painted the model with Model Master paints. I entered the model and was fortunate enough to place First, one day I hope to build an A-6E to go along side my Prowler. Bob Click on images below to see larger images
