Hi there
again, this my rendition of the mighty Su-7 NATO code 'fitter' fighter
bomber that's in use with many air forces around the globe. It was an
extremely versatile design and being a Sukhoi built like a brick outhouse.
It was/is? able to withstand extreme levels of damage which would have
bought down many western types and still be flown home and repaired!!
Anyone hearing one of these beasts taking off will agree that it is one of
the loudest aircraft around ,the power of its Lyulka engine literally
shaking the ground apart. Apparently it is a joy to fly and very forgiving
in most of the flight regime.
Anyway to the
kit. It
was purchased at an airshow back in the 80's for about $6 and basically built
out of the box with the exception of the cockpit (completely scratch built) and
a small PE set (Reheat I think!) for vents, scoops, grills, u/c parts, etc. The
mould is basically accurate but the whole thing had to be filled and rescribed
as the recessed panel lines were far too thick/deep (a very long, boring
job!!!). The decals were from my spares box as I didn't like the kit's ones at
all plus I wanted to model an aircraft that I had seen.

All in all it
was a fun build and cost me next to nothing unlike the Amodel 3ms Bison
that I am wading through at the moment which has cost me more than my
house!! That should be finished this year and I will happily post it here
if anyone is interested.
Thanks for looking,
Andy
