This was a
repaint of a wooden CC-115 Buffalo as used by 116 Air Transport Unit
United Nations, detached from 424 squadron Canadian Armed Forces. The
aircraft as shown was shot down on August 9, 1974 by a Syrian air force
surface to air missile, while performing missions for the United Nations.

The
model itself is somewhere between 1/50-1/60 and that's a guesstamate. The
decals are supplied by Canmilair, who do every Canadian paint scheme I
know about for even this yet to be released in plastic model.
Did I mention its made of
wood? I drilled out a couple holes on the engine cowling, added some air
scoops for the cabin and then repainted everything. The props are in the
possession of the models owner. He did a pretty good job of his Buffalo,
which he uses for school presentations. But wanted it redone. Personally I
think his job was pretty good.
