This
is my build of the Hasegawa Kittyhawk Mk. IV (#09732) built straight out
of the box. The molds of this kit are so crisp and accurate there
was no need for any resin or photo-etch, aside from the seatbelts I swiped
from another kit. Construction, as seems to nearly always be the
case with Hasegawa kits, was very straight forward and without any
problems. The fuselage halves fit superbly and the panel lines are
accurately engraved.

As
is usual, the canopy was dipped in Future for added clarity while all
parts were primed light gray after a light sanding to reveal no additional
blemishes and then painted with several thin coats of Gunze acrylics.
Exhausts were hallowed out and then painted gloss black (as a primer) then
various shades of copper, brass and burnt iron from Alclad II.
As
this is my first article with ARC I do hope to have provided a decent rendition
of the RAAF’s No. 78 wing.
