I had seen these pre-finished J-Wings kits floating around on Ebay for some time now, but I didn’t take the plunge until I found this gem at this year’s IPMS New Orleans show. After I got home I opened the kit and took a look at the contents.

The wings are variable-position, and there were parts for a LANTERN “Bombcat”, since VF-84 never used the LANTERN, I binned those parts.  I modified the tailhook to be in the extended position, and I robbed a stand from a diecast P-61.

It only took me about an hour or so to finish this kit.  I’m looking forward to finding a few more of these little gems.
