This is my Monogram 1/48 A-4E Skyhawk built out of the box with after market decals.  I enjoyed building this kit more than I did making the Hasegawa version.

There were no problems building this simple kit.  Everything fit great, with only minor filling and sanding around the fuselage hump.  The cockpit is rather simple in detail, but you can't see much of it.  I also had to make blanking plates for the insides of the intakes, but nothing major.

The gull gray is brush painted and the white is airbrushed with Acryl.  The decals used were from CAM for VA-152.  These decals were great except for the long yellow fuselage stripe.  It broke into three pieces when I pulled it from the water.

I love this simple Monogram kit.  It is basic in detail, but for the price ($10) you can't go wrong.  I have a Monogram OA-4M waiting in the wings and can't wait to start that one.
