This is
Hasegawa's F-14D with Eduard photo-etch and Hasegawa weapons and LANTIRN
pod. The kit's been covered quite a bit both here on ARC and on
other sites, so I won't rehash all the pluses and minuses here (short
story - it builds into a nice Tomcat, but the engineering can be tricky).
The decals are from TwoBobs and are from VF-213's last cruise.

The display is a
carrier deck section from Custom Dioramics cut to fit in a Wal-Mart
picture frame. This time around I put the frame glass on top for
some protection. So, there's some glare in these outdoor pictures
but it looks fine indoors on a display shelf. I built this for a
friend and former co-worker on the staff at Naval Strike and Air Warfare
Center as a gift to mark her getting out of the navy. She was a RIO
with -213 before coming to work at Fallon.
Hopefully neither she nor
her husband come across this gallery before I figure out how to get it
down to San Diego in one piece!
