I have a soft spot for 1/72 model aircraft because they remind me of my childhood.  However, I tend to steer away from them when it comes to contemporary model building because the 1/48 range offers much more room for detailing and looks more authentic in my display cupboards.

Nonetheless, large 1/72 are a gem especially if you include Revell's recent offering.  The Mistel I was built out of the Italeri box.  It is the only kit of its kind for the Mistel variations and proved a pleasure to build.
