The model was brush painted with Humbrol enamels.  Decals were purchased from various sources.

Some additional work was done on the control surfaces which were slightly dropped (Esci gives the lowered slats and I dropped the flaps a little bit as well).  Also the seats were heavily modified to represent a later type than the one this is provided in the kit.

On the real bird, the blue panels must have been "borrowed" from an "aegean blue" F-5A as well as the wingtip tanks which are taken from a three-tone gray NF-5A from those that were purchased second-hand from the Netherlands ... Interesting case, don't you think?
