The
BO-105 is a well known liaison, light support and anti-tank helicopter, so there
is no need to say much about it. Click on images below to see larger images The
kit The
BO-105 kit is available in different versions, from Revell and Italieri, as
liaison, anti tank, rescue, police and civilian helicopter. It
is basically the same kit everytime, so there are some shortcomings in detailing
and the differences between the civilian and military version. So I decided to scratch build the interior, using styrene sheet, wire and magic sculp.
Construction Scratching
the whole interior took some time, in this case nearly 8 weeks. On the nacelle
there where also some changes necessary, so I added the Army-specific details,
as I did with the rotor system, the doors and the windshield, where the
windshield wipers where sanded down and replaced with scratched ones. As
I wanted to show the helo in the Tigermeet-look I had to paint the tiger
“free-hand”, as there are no decals for this version, but it was easier than
I expected. I used Gunze acrylics, as usual, and painting the helo took me four days, than it was completed. The
“outdoor” pictures where taken on a nearby airfield, I think that the model
looks nearly as the real thing with the correct background. Hope,
you like it, Thomas Click on images below to see larger images
