Boeing 737-900ER Cruzeiro 

(fantasy scheme)

This model was assembled for the B737 Group Build, which was held last year, sponsored by the Aviation Dream website.
The kit used was a Revell AG B737-800 (RyanAir livery), with a mix of custom made decals, along with some FCM and Revell AG decals.
Winglets had to be re-shaped (sanded), as the original Revell AG winglets are amazingly wrong.

My initial intention for lengthening the kit was to use plugs from a previous -700 conversion from a similar kit, both forward and aft of the wings.  But my plastic cutting skills failed on me, so I had to use an epoxy putty to fill the junction areas.
In order to create a strong support for it, popsicle sticks and plastic sheets were placed inside the fuselage on both junction areas.
Brazilian epoxy putty called Durepoxi was used to fill the areas where plugs should be.  It was then sanded and panel lines scribed where they should.

After cementing it all together - wings, engines -, puttying and sanding it to all correct shapes, automotive PU primer was applied.
Actually, all paints used were automotive PU paint, except for the chrome silver on all leading edges and engines' intakes (Model Master chrome silver, to be specific).
After priming, light gray was applied on the wings and stabs (these were glued to the model in the very end). Then, dark blue on the empennage, winglets and engines. Picture 005 shows progress at such stage of the build.

Window and windshield decals are Revell AG originals from the kit. The coroguard and overwings scape path decals came from the Revell AG KLM 737-800 kit.  Stars for the fin and the extra scape door, which can only be found on the -900ER version of the 737NG's, came from FCM decal sheets left overs.  For the rest of the decals, all came on the custom sheet from RBX.  Stabs and landing gears were placed in the end of the decaling process.
