I took the mythical 1/48 scale HASEGAWA kit that is dedicated to the F-104G of marineflieger, adding only an Aires resin seat. First of all I colored the model entirely in black, and once I started with dry cleared gray with a few drops of white to colour individually each panel line. After completing this stage according to about 30 cm from the aircraft and when I finished this, I aligned everything. Looking at various photos on Internet, I noticed that often there were paint touch-up by the aircraft specialists. I used cleared grey and applied it very slowly with various touches to mimetic the look. Click on images below to see larger images Do not worry if you notice a significant difference because following with layers of paint I gave this transparent effect clear coat. Then I masked the top and I applied aluminum with few drops of gray. After drying I applied the orange tank on the wing tips. I wanted me F-104 to have a faded weathered look as I had seen in some photos. I then gave it the first of all colored in orange, then from the bottom upwards in yellow, and finally the top in yellow tending to white, and I must say I was very happy with how it turned out. Finally I colored white exercise bomb container and finally applied two layers of transparent paint coating.
I applied the decals and used GUNZE to soften the decals to help them conform to the model better and then I applied another layer of glossy transparent. Finally as you can see from the photos I used Tamiya dust to dirty the jet, helping me also tempering the black color. I was fully satisfied with the end result! I hope you like it too… Busolini Click on images below to see larger images
