Kit # 04517

Brief History : The Dassault Rafale is a new-generation ultra modern twin-jet combat plane. It meets the combat requirements for the next century, combining in a single plane the multiple roles that otherwise would be carried out many different types.  The Rafale M is the carrier bone naval version equipped with a reinforced undercarriage for catapult launching.  Equipped with two SNECMA M88-2 engines (each with 75 KN thrust) the Rafale reaches a speed of Mach 2.

Its long range, enormous load-carrying capacity, precision fire control & survivability gives the Rafale exceptional mission effectiveness. In addition, it is the best combat plane in the world that can engage in simultaneous ground & air defense actions. The first production plane flew in 1999 flown by French navy.

This is my 1/48 Revell (Gmb) Dassault Rafale M.  This model is a special dedication in loving memories of my dear brother who left us for the heavens on 13 October 2007 may his soul rest in peace, I am sure if he saw this model he would have really appreciated my work. Mind you that this model is made by me for a special friend of mine a Pilot of our local Airline P.I.A.

This model was made straight from the box, the casting of the parts was O.K.  For painting this model Revell paint was used, as you can see that the model in the fabricating section looks quite ugly & dirty but after it was finished its looks cool with the authentic paint job. Paint used for the job was Revell # 374 Gray. For Panel lines I used Promodellers Mud Weathering wash I personally feel it’s a must for all enthusiastic  modelers.

My eyes are weak, so to paint the undercarriage & small parts I had to take the help of a Magnifying glasses, overall the model turned out fine if you like to contact me then please feel free to do so. I hope you like my work.
