Ever since I first saw a picture of one of these special Tiger Scheme CF-18's.....I've been wanting and hoping someday there would be decals released of this scheme. Finally my dreams have come true.
There was more than one CF-18 to carry this scheme. Each plane had unique stripes, so this decal sheet is specific to plane #188764. Dave at Leading Edge Models has been searching for detail photos of these planes for years to make sure he got each stripe correct. Finally he collected enough pictures of #764 to complete this decal sheet.
The 1/48 decal set includes 4 decal sheets, 2 B&W instruction sheets and one colour sheet. The 1/72 decal set includes 2 decal sheets, 2 B&W instruction sheets and one colour sheet.
The instruction sheets are quite complete and tell you how to get the perfect shade of grey that was unique to this plane. They also detail the placement of all the decals including the weapons pylons and drop tanks. Another interesting feature of this paint scheme is the no-step markings are Tiger paw prints with X'es through them (as opposed to the regular shoe print). These decals are the usual perfection Leading Edge Models is famous for. Sharp clear print, everything in register and small clear film around the colour areas on the decals.
Run....don't walk to your nearest hobby shop and buy these decals.....they won't last long.
