This is not the first CF-18 from the Canadian Air Force to have a massive Red Maple Leaf on the top of the jet, but this is the most colourful version of this paint scheme. This latest decal set from Leading Edge Models is very well done and highly complete. Dave at Leading Edge Models has reason to be quite proud of this latest offering....this decal sheet is a stunning beauty.

Further below is a photo of the complete 1/48 decal set. This is one very nice decal sheet. All you need to do this paint scheme is included in the decal sheet(s). The 2 pages of instructions are very detailed to help you get this paint scheme perfect. The instructions include directions to paint the Red Maple Leaf or use the large Red Maple Leaf decal. If you choose to paint the Red Maple Leaf, then the white pin stripes to go around the red Maple Leaf are included on the decal sheet(s). The 1/48 set includes 2 large decal sheet and the 1/72 set includes 1 large decal sheet. The 1/72 decal set has all the decals on one large decal sheet. The printing quality is also flawless and shows no signs of loss of crispness in this smaller scale. The printing quality of this decal sheet if typical Leading Edge flawlessness. Even the stencils on the 1/72 sheet are readable.
The false canopy for the underside comes in multiply pieces to make decaling this plane with the wheel down a very easy task. Every aspect of this decal sheet is very well thought out and although this looks like an involved paint sheet....it should be easy with these decals from Leading Edge Models.
This sheet is sure to be highly popular and will sell out quickly I suspect.
