Let me start out by first stating a disclaimer that I neither work for nor have any financial interest in Orion Model Accessories, because by the time I'm done telling you about these decals you all are going to think Dave Roof is paying me off!  Let me assure he is not, I am an average Joe modeler (kit assembler) and this is my genuine opinion.  I wanted to do something colorful on my Hasegawa 1/48 F/A-18D Hornet, and this decal sheet fit the bill perfectly.

I'll start with the decal sheet itself.  It is very well printed, every bit as good or even better than any Superscale sheet I've seen.  Everything is in perfect register, and even the smallest stencils are readable.  Dave was very thoughtful with this sheet, even providing us with data decals for the ejection seats and landing gear, as well as plenty of markings for the drop tanks.  Those items alone set this sheet apart from the others.  Also provided are decals for the formation lights, which appear to be the correct color and size.   The "Viking" graphics are very striking, and will really liven up the grey paint job typical of the F/A-18 Hornet.  The thing that will blow you folks away is the set of instructions that accompany these decals.  I have never in my modeling life seen such a comprehensive set of instructions for decals.  Orion Model Accessories has set a new standard in this area, I hope other aftermarket companies take note.  Here is what you get:  One sheet printed front and back with the general data placement.  Very nicely done and understandable.  The next page is also printed front and back, one side has very detailed drawings of the ejection seats, showing decal placement as well as a complete painting guide.  The other side deals with decal placement for the drop tanks, landing gear decal placement, and a paint guide for both.  The next sheet is a huge sheet that actually has drawings in 1/48 scale that give you exact decal placement.  Throughout the instructions, Dave also gives pointers on painting certain areas, and some inaccuracies with the kit and how to fix them.  And on yet another sheet, Dave provides a complete list of other aftermarket goodies for the Hornet, complete with manufacturer names and addresses.  Also included are several modeling related web sites.  I'm telling you, Dave has thought of everything.  I guarantee your jaw will drop to the floor when you open this pack of decals.  I am anxiously awaiting future releases from Orion!
