ScaleQuest is a new company providing resin detail items to modelers wanting to super detail their models. This is their first set and includes 10 resin parts including engine cowl flaps, rear grills for the engine oil coolers, shrouds for the rear side of the oil coolers and the waste gate pipes and intercooler air outlet ducting for the supercharger ducting doors on the rear fuselage.

Also included in this set is a set of open engine cowl flaps. There is much detail on the inside of the cowl flaps that is missing on the Tamiya parts....the resin part in this set details that area very well. Also included is the front air intake ducting directly below the engine. |

| Engine cowls....add .010" styrene rod styrene to further detail each cowl flap door. | Air intake below engine (on left above) and one of two intercooler air outlet dust piece (on right above). | Rear grills for the engine oil coolers, shrouds for the rear side of the oil coolers and the waste gate pipes. |
This resin set also deals with the oil cooler area. Included are the rear grills for the engine oil coolers, shrouds for the rear side of the oil coolers and the waste gate pipes. See the larger version of the instruction sheet below for more detailed info.

The parts are beautifully and flawlessly cast in the standard cream colored resin. This isn't the hard brittle resin that could be prone to breaking. Instead it is a resin about as hard as the Tamiya kit plastic and this made removing the parts from the casting blocks quite easy. The overall fit of the parts was very good and they require very little effort to get them to fit as well as the kit parts. Instructions are detailed and include paint instructions. A very nice product and highly recommended.Steve I would like to thank Scale Quest for providing me with this review sample. |
