This new decal
sheet from Cutting
Edge Modelworks includes markings for two A-10 Warthog's in
1/48 scale. The recommended kit for these decals is the Monogram A-10A.
The first Warthog on this sheet is
an A-10A #79-621 with the 118th FS / 103rd FW with the Connecticut ANG.
This "Black Lightning" paint scheme is to commemorate the 118th RS
P-51 in WW2. This commemorative A-10 is in the standard FS 36375
/ FS 36320 scheme and features black stenciling and numbers with big black
lighting bolt with yellow outlines. There is an FS 36118 false Canopy on
the underside. On the side of the engine cowlings is the text "The
Flying Yankees 80 Years". The
second Warthog on this sheet is a A-10A # 60-616 with the 104th FG, 131st FS out
of Barnes Airfield, MA with Operation Deliberate Force in Bosnia when they flew
from Aviano, Italy. This Warthog is
in the standard FS 36375 / FS 36320 scheme with an FS 36118 false Canopy
on the underside. On the tails are a red horizontal stripe and all
stencils are in black. Ladder door artwork is a smiley with a flat
horizontal line for a smile with the text below it that reads "Have a
day". The decals were flawlessly printed and the clear
carrier film is trimmed very close to the crisply printed colored areas, which
is always good to see.
