This new decal
sheet from Cutting Edge
Modelworks includes markings for two B-17 Flying Fortress.
This
decal sheet includes markings for a B-17G-20-BO of the 323 BS with the 91 BG. This aircraft was flown by
Doyle E. Bradford from Great Ashford in
England in February 1944. This aircraft was called "MOUNT N RIDE".
Markings include sexy nose art of a slender young blonde in shorts flipped over
on her shoulders with the yellow text "MOUNT N RIDE".
This artwork was created by 91st BG artist Tony Starcer. The rest of the
paint scheme is standard Olive Drab on top and Neutral Grey on the
underside. This particular B-17 only completed 6 missions before it was
damaged by flak and had to land in Switzerland to be interned for the remainder
of the war. It eventually flew back to England on Oct 8 1945 where is was
probably scrapped.
The second
aircraft is a
B-17F-115-BO of the 569 BS with the 390BG serial number 42-30715. This aircraft was flown
from Framlingham in
England in early 1944. This aircraft was called "Cincinnati Queen".
Markings include sexy nose art of a slender young blonde in a scanty backless
one piece bathing suit. in a sitting down over the shoulder sideview pose with
the yellow text "Cincinnati Queen". The rest of the paint
scheme is standard Olive Drab on top and Neutral Grey on the underside.
The tail has a dark olive drab centre which was due to the dark paint used at
the Boeing factory. The deicer boots were removed from the front of the
tail, leaving a bare metal appearance in this area.
The
decals were flawlessly printed and in perfect registration and the clear
carrier film is trimmed very close to the crisply printed colored areas.
You get enough markings for two aircraft.
