| D-Day gave us the very appealing black and white stripes on aircraft involved in the invasion of Western Europe on June 6 1944. I'm not sure why these stripes are so appealing to me......but they are. | ||

This new 1/72 decal sheet (also available in 1/48) from Model Alliance Group from their Premier Plus Range Decals focuses on the French Mirage F1-B. There are decals for one special French Mirage F1-B with D-Day stripes. The decals themselves are beautiful quality and very clearly printed on the 1/72 sample I have before me (the scan above does not show the the sharpness of these decals). Colours look solid and will cover very well, but the decals also don't appear overly thick and complicated decals are printed in multiple layers to ensure perfect registration. Clear film is minimal and tapers down nicely to the edge of the decal. The D-Day stripes are slightly wider and longer to ensure perfect fit for which ever kit you decide to use. |

| The paint scheme
is Mirage Blue FS 35237 on top and Aluminium on the underside with the usual natural metal shades around the engine exhausts and
tail. In front of the windscreen is a flat black anti-glare
panel. On the tail is the yellow numbr "60" with the red
text "ANS" (for 60 years). The are D-Day stripes on the
top and bottom of the wings and rear fuselage. The more complicated
decals come in more than one layer.
The instruction sheets include helpful text describing how to paint the cockpit and with what colours. All necessary information about painting is included as well as FS Federal Standard numbers, Humbrol, Lifecolour, Testors and Xtracolour. The production run is limited, so don't delay if this sheet interests you. |
