This new resin set from Griffon Model Accessories includes resin and photo etch parts to convert your 1/48 Hasegawa Spitfire MkVIII or IX into a Spitfire Mk VII.  This set has parts to convert the engine cowling bottom and add a bulge to the right side of the engine cowling.  You also get a new interior side of the cockpit door to go on the inside of the cockpit sidewall.  You get a little photo etch triangle for the canopy windscreen as well as a photo etch plate for behind the seat and photo etch rails that the real canopy would slide on.  For the tail you get new resin horizontal flying surfaces with delicate engraved detailing.  The lower engine cowling has all the engraved details you'd expect to find on the Hasegawa kit parts.

Resin casting is flawlessly done to a very high quality in grey resin and the addition of photo etch parts really makes this set rich in detail.

The 2 pages of instructions are easy to follow and well laid out and I don't expect any problems with this set.

Remember.....cover the Photo Etch sheet with clear tape before cutting tiny Photo Etch parts from the sheet....this will prevent these tiny parts from getting lost.

I would like to thank Griffon Model Accessories for providing me with this review sample.
