These new resin items from Cutting Edge Modelworks will permit you to convert the 1/32 Trumpeter P-38J/L into the earlier P-38F, P-38G, or P-38H (or the F-4/F-5 photo recce variants, but the recce noses are not included in this set).

Included in this set are a complete set of revised cowlings for the earlier style of the P-38F/G/H.  The shape of the engine cowling on the earlier P-38's is quite different from the later versions which had been revised as improvements were incorporated into the design.  These changes included lower cowling shape differences, different supercharger scoop sizes, and the oil cooler scoops on the side were smaller on the earlier versions.  This set addresses all of these changes to give you the accuracy you need to make the earlier P-38. 

You also get a new clear windscreen to reflect the simplier design of the earlier windscreen.  Cutting Edge Modelworks really has these clear parts figured out and this windscreeen is now exception.......crystal clear and complete with very faint frame lines to aid in masking the windscreen frames for painting. There are also 2 pages of instructions complete with helpful text and plenty of photos to help you make this project happen.

Resin casting is of a very high quality and all the detail is very well done with no air bubbles.  This new resin set from Cutting Edge Modelworks will be a welcome set for those wishing to build the earlier P-38 from the Trumpeter kit.
