These new resin set of resin seamless intakes for the 1/48 F-111D/F-111E/F-111F/F-111G/FB-111A from Cutting Edge Modelworks will be a very welcome item for anyone building the very fine 1/48 Academy family of kits. I was quite impressed when I saw that the intakes were done in white resin and the fan blades were done in gray resin. Painting white is always a difficult task for all but the most seasoned scale modeller and doing these in white resin will assist greatly. You will need to cut and grind your kit to prepare it for these resin intakes and some resin parts will need a tiny bit of work remove them from the casting blocks.

Resin casting is of a very high quality and all the detail is very well done with no air bubbles. This new resin set from Cutting Edge Modelworks includes Triple Plow II (TP II) intakes fitted to the later F-111s (F-111D, F-111E, F-111F, F-111G and FB-111A. If you are building an earlier F-111 such as the F-111A, F-111C for the Australian RAAF, or the EF-111A jammer, F-111F, you will need to use the Cutting Edge Modelworks set CEC48514, F-111 Triple Plow I Seamless Intakes. There is nothing as sweet as using seamless resin intakes instead of kit intakes to save yourself time in not having to deal with seams in the intake trunks.
