review Yellow Hammer Decals 1/48 F-14D Tomcat Sunset #3 Decal sheet YHD48037

This new decal sheet from Yellow Hammer Decals includes markings for two different 1/48 F-14D's in paint schemes close to the retirement of the Tomcat.

The first aircraft is a F-14D with VF-31 Tomcatters flown by CDR Curt Opie Seth on Sept 20 2006 at NAS Oceana, VA. The paint scheme for this aircraft is FS 35237 on top and FS 36375 on the underside. The rudder has Tomcatter artwork marking the anniversary of the F-14 1970-2006 on the outside of both rudders.

The second aircraft is a F-14D with VF-31 Tomcatters Modex 00 CAG bird black tail Just Win, Baby - USS Theodore Roosevelt, CAPT Dan Dix Dixon, both TPS gray scheme, September 18, 2006, NAS Oceana. This set includes a special Felix' Fire PYN-up Decal! The paint scheme for this aircraft is a lo-viz FS 16440 on top and FS 17875 on the underside.

The instructions are clear and include 2 views of each aircraft. The decals are beautifully printed on 2 decal sheets. One complete set of stencils is included on this decal sheet.

A very nice decal sheet to mark the retirement of the F-14 Tomcat.
