This new decal sheet from Yellow Hammer Decals includes markings for three different 1/48 F-14D's in paint schemes close to the retirement of the Tomcat.  All these are TPS gray scheme birds that participated in the final Tomcat traps and launches on the USS Theodore Roosevelt on 28 July 2006 and the Tomcat Sunset official US Navy retirement of the Tomcat at NAS Oceana, Virginia, in mid September 2006.

The first aircraft is a F-14D AJ/110 "Sweet Little Miss" with VF-31 Tomcatters flown by LT Taylor Grant on July 28 2006 onboard the USS Theodore Rossevelt.  The paint scheme for this aircraft is FS 35237 on top and FS 36375 on the underside.  The rudder has the "Felix the black cat carrying a bomb" artwork on the outside of both rudders.  There is small black outline noseart of a sexy lady.  There is also Felix the Cat artwork on a fuel tank under the aircraft.

The third aircraft is a F-14D AJ/106 with VF-31 Tomcatters flown by LCDR Dave Faehnle on July 28 2006 onboard the USS Theodore Rossevelt.  The paint scheme for this aircraft is FS 35237 on top and FS 36375 on the underside.  The rudder has the "Felix the black cat carrying a bomb" artwork on the outside of both rudders.  There is small black outline noseart for "Tomcats and Targets".  There is also Felix the Cat artwork on a fuel tank under the aircraft.

The instructions are clear and include 2 views of each aircraft.  The decals are beautifully printed on 1 decal sheet.  One complete set of stencils is included on this decal sheet.

A very nice decal sheet to mark the retirement of the F-14 Tomcat that captures an aircraft that performed the final tomcat Trap.
