This new decal sheet f rom Cutting Edge Modelworks includes markings for four different 1/48 Fw 190D-9. These aircraft are the early Doras fitted with the 5 piece cowl guns instead of the simplified 3 piece guns found on later Doras. The first aircraft is a Fw 190 D-9, Red 18, W.Nr. 211115, I./EKG(J), Pilsen, May 1945. The paint scheme is RLM 82/83 (green/green) on top with RLM 75 gray mottling (spots?) over the RLM 76 light blue fuselage sides. The underside is also RLM 76 light blue. There is an RLM 04 yellow theater band on the rear of the fuselage although there is uncertainty as to whether this theater band might have been white. The yellow one is included as a decal. The spinner is black. The second aircraft is a Fw 190 D-9, Black Bar + Bar, W.Nr. 211929, Stab/JG 6, Reichenberg, May 1945. The paint scheme is RLM 82/83 (green/green) on top with RLM 75 gray mottling (spots?) over the RLM 76 light blue fuselage sides. The underside is also RLM 76 light blue. The spinner is black with a white spiral. |
