This new decal sheet from Afterburner Decals includes markings for four different 1/48 F/A-18F's with VFA-41 Black Aces.

The first aircraft is a F/A-18F 166455, CAG jet with VFA-41 in 2007 flown by Capt. D.B Woods CAG and Capt. T.M. Downing.  The paint scheme for this aircraft is FS 36375 Light Ghost Gray overall and FS 36320 Dark Ghost Gray on  the topside.  Because this is a CAG bird there is black areas with a red outline on the top of the fuselage around the canpoy.  The rudder features a black, white and red Ace of Spades playing card artwork and red fin flash areas at the very top of the tail.  This aircraft has red intake warning markings.

The second aircraft is a F/A-18F 166455, lo-vis jet with VFA-41 in 2006 flown by Capt. D.B Woods CAG and Capt. T.M. Downing.  The paint scheme for this aircraft is FS 36375 Light Ghost Gray overall and FS 36320 Dark Ghost Gray on  the topside.  The rudder features a black, white and red Ace of Spades playing card artwork and red fin flash areas at the very top of the tail.  This aircraft has red intake warning markings.

The fourth aircraft is a F/A-18F 166453, lo-vis jet with VFA-41 in 2007 flown by Lt Kevin Durkin, Lt JG Tim Annen, Lt JG Chris Longabaugh and Lt Mike McGinnis.  The paint scheme for this aircraft is FS 36375 Light Ghost Gray overall and FS 36320 Dark Ghost Gray on  the topside.  The rudder features a gray Ace of Spades playing card artwork.

Thankfully the FS #'s are included in the instructions to assit painting these jets.   Some decals come in two layers to ensure perfect regristration.  These decals are sized for the Hasegawa kit.

The instructions are clear and include 3 views of each aircraft.  The decals are beautifully printed on 2 decal sheets.  You also get black and white line drawings showing decal and stencil placement and another page of text and line drawings explaining what weapons would go on which weapons stations.  Two complete sets of stencils are included on this decal sheet.

A very nice decal sheet featuring a variety of F/A-18F's with VFA-41 off the USS Nimitz.

Special thanks for this sheet goes to Lt JG Chris Longabaugh, Lt Mike McGinnis, Brian "Oompah"Marbrey, John Gabor and Andrew Desautels.
