This new decal sheet from Pyn-Up Decals includes markings for two different 1/32 P-47D's with sexy noseart.

The first aircraft is a P-47D-28-RA with the 405 FG/511 FS flown by Lt. Larry A. Kuhl on the Spring of 1945.  The paint scheme for this aircraft is overall bare metal with Olive Drab on the top of the fuselage in-front and behind the canopy.  The forward ring of the engine cowling is yellow as is the canopy framing.  There are red stripes on the tail.  The noseart is of a sexy little brunette in a red teddy with white fur trim and with matching Santa hat.  She is standing in front of a green background and a chimney.  The text beside the artwork reads "Dottie Mae".  The serial numbers on the side of the fuselage is K4 S.  This aircraft arrived in the European theatre in late 1944 and first went into battle flying close air support on Dec 16 1944.  This aircraft flew 90 missions and was the last P-47 lost in the war when it was lost due to pilot error while flying low over a lake in Austria.  The full story is in the instruction sheets.  The aircraft was recovered from that lake in 2005 and is currently undergoing a restoration to flight status in California.

The second aircraft is a P-47D-28-RA with the 56 FG/63 FS out of Boxted England in 1944.  The paint scheme for this aircraft is overall bare metal with Olive Drab on the top of the fuselage in-front and behind the canopy.  The forward ring of the engine cowling is red.  There are black stripes on the tail.  The noseart is of a sexy little blonde in a yellow teddy and black stockings.  She is standing in front of a blue and red background.  The text beside the artwork reads "Shack Rat".  The serial numbers on the side of the fuselage is UN M.

The decals are contained on 3 decal sheets.  Two are the regular silk screened decal sheet and the third is for the noseart decals which is done by a different process to ensure the proper shading for the noseart.

The noseart decals are delicate and two are included for each plane in case you mess up the first ones.  Exacting instructions are included on how to prepare and install these decals…..read these instructions carefully to avoid disaster.  Apparently these noseart decals are very thin and need special care, but once installed they will look very accurate and realistic.  The nose art decals are printed on a one piece decal sheet, so you’ll need to cut the decal free from the rest of the decal film…..patience is the key here.  The noseart decal is beautifully printed with fantastic detail and lovely shading.

The instructions are clear and includes helpful tips for decal application and some information about one of these aircraft.  You also get 4 extra pages of instructions telling about these aircraft and the unique features of their paint scheme and markings.  You also get 4 view Blacka nd White line drawings showing stencil placement.

A very nice decal sheet and sure to please the lucky 300 people that manage to buy one of these limited edition sheets.

Special thanks goes to Mike "Eagle Eyes" Lampros for his help on this decal sheet.
