This new decal sheet from Afterburner Decals includes markings for 8 different 1/48 F/A-18A/B's in quite the variety of paint schemes and markings.

The first aircraft is a F/A-18A A21-20 with 77 Squadron in Operation Falconer at Al Udeid AB, Qatar in April 2003.  The paint scheme for this aircraft is the standard 2 tone grey with 3 bombing mission markings and some green stripes on the fuselage upper sides and the outside of the tails.

The second aircraft is a F/A-18A A21-38 with 75 Squadron.  The paint scheme for this aircraft is the standard 2 tone grey with 3 bombing mission markings and artwork of a castle with the text "Gimye Daur".  National insignia are in full colour.

The third aircraft is a F/A-18A A21-55 with 3 Squadron.  The paint scheme for this aircraft is the standard 2 tone grey with bombing mission markings on the side of the nose and below that is tiny Anniversary markings for 3 Squadron.

The fourth aircraft is a F/A-18A A21-48 with 77 Squadron CO Jet flown by WGCDR Alan Clements in 2007.    The paint scheme for this aircraft is the standard 2 tone grey with 3 bombing mission markings and some green stripes on the fuselage upper sides and green and white checkerboards the outside of the tails with artwork over the checkerboard.

The sixth aircraft is a F/A-18A A21-13 3 Squadron 90th Anniversary Jet in 2006.  The paint scheme for this aircraft is the standard 2 tone grey with colourful artwork on the side of the nose and and bright colourful artwork covering the outside of the tails.  There are grey spear stripes on the side of the upper fuselage that includes anniversary artwork.

The seventh aircraft is a F/A-18B A21-103 with 3 Squadron in 2006.  The paint scheme for this aircraft is the standard 2 tone grey with a hunting bird in a dive carrying a bomb in it's claws the outside of the tails that also includes Australian flafgs in full colour.  There are grey spear stripes on the side of the upper fuselage that includes anniversary artwork.

The eighth aircraft is a F/A-18A A21-29 CO Jet with 75 Squadron flown by WGCDR S. Robertson in 2007.  The paint scheme for this aircraft is the standard 2 tone grey with  black top hat and cane on the outside of the tails.

The 8 pages of instructions are clear and include 1 side view of each aircraft as well as top and bottom views to show camo patterns.  There is 3 full pages with 4 view line drawings that shows stencil placement...and these Aussie jets have piles of little stencils.  The decals are beautifully printed on 2 decal sheets.  Two complete set of stencils are included on this decal sheet. You also get a page that explains what weapons loads go on what pylons and weapons stations.

I love the look of Aussie national insignia and this sheet gives you plenty of variety for your next Australian Air Force Hornet.......the only problem is deciding which 2 of the 8 hornets on this sheet to build.
