--------------------

This new decal sheet from Barracudacals includes markings for 3 different P-47 Thunderbolts with noseart that served in the European theater of Operations during WW2.

The 3 aircraft are all 8th Air Force P-47's from 1944 and are in the olive drab scheme with neutral gray undersides.

  • P-47D-1-RE "Bosie Bee" Ser No. 42-7890, 334th FS, 4th FG, 8th Air Force based at Debden, England in January 1944. This aircraft was flown by Lt Duane Beeson.

  • P-47C-5-RE "Wela Kahoe" Ser No. 41-6538, 334th FS, 4th FG, 8th Air Force based at Debden, England in January 1944.  This aircraft was shared by Capt Bill Hollander and Capt Stanley Anderson.

  • P-47D "Dallas Blonde" 319th FS, 325th FG, 8th Air Force based at Lesina, Italy in early 1944. This aircraft was flown by LT. Don Kearns.

The instructions are clear and include 3 views of each aircraft.  The decals are beautifully printed on 1 decal sheet with 2 insert decal sheets.  The 4 pages of instructions include all the information regarding painting and fading and weathering on these aircraft.  The 4th page of the instruction sheets includes stencil placement and instruction to install decals like a master modeler.  These P-47s helped liberate Europe and it's good to see them available in decal form.
