The Ta-152 is an exceptionally
beautiful airplane and the new kit from Zoukei-Mura is a piece of art.
The Pacific Coast and Jerry Rutman offerings are nice as well so with
these kits in mind Eaglecals releases this newest set of decals.
Four aircraft are depicted on
the sheet. Typical of EagleCals,
the instructions are presented on an 8.5 x 22 high quality paper, folded in half
paper creating two 8.5 x 10 sheets. The
front of the instructions contains first class artwork by Tom Tullis.
The same artwork is on the inside but larger.
Wait there is something different, some of the aircraft have yellow
numbers. The instructions explains this, it is not a mistake.
There is a stencil sheet included and an explaination of the aircraft
markings. All this is very helpful.
The other side contains top and bottom views of the aircraft.
Included in this instruction sheet is another 8.5 x 11 page with actual
pictures of the only remaining Ta-152. This
sheet shows the particular placement of stencils and data plates.
A very nice touch. This is
typical of the quality that I’ve come to expect from Eagle Editions.

Well what about the decals
themselves? They are printed on two
sheets by Cartograf so you know they are of the best quality.
The one sheet contains most of the stencils and crosses.
The swastikas are broken down into two pieces, very smart breakdown for
modelers overseas. One thing you won’t find anywhere else is the Focke Wulf
stencils for the wheel wells. These
are explained on the additional instruction sheet.
Everything is printed in perfect register.
The other sheet contains the
individual aircraft markings. The
first three aircraft are painted up in Bright Green and Dark Green over RLM 76
with red and yellow RVD bands.
First up is ‘Yellow/Green
3’ flown by Obfw. Josef Keil. This
aircraft is very ‘clean’ without a lot of mottling on the fuselage.
The spinner is black green.
The next one is ‘Green 9’
as flown by Fw. Willi Reschke when he shot down two Yak-9s.
This aircraft has a little more mottling than ‘Green 3’.
The lower wing is half natural metal and half RLM 76.
The spinner has a spiral on it, making it a natural selection for
modelers.
The final bright and dark green
aircraft is ‘Yellow/Green 4’ as flown by Obfw. Walter Loos.
This is the only surviving Ta-152 in the world.
The thing unique about this one is the overpainted factory codes.
These are provided as decals which I think is really neat.
These markings give you the option of painting the model as it was flown,
and with a little red and blue as it was captured.
The final Ta-152 is an overall
orange-red one. This one is quite
colorful with black markings and in 1/32nd scale this will catch
everyone’s eye on the model table or display case.
So we have impecible research,
beautiful presentation, and high quality decals.
What more can you ask for from a decal manufacturer?
Nothing. This sheet is
indicative of the quality we have come to expect from Eagle Editions.
They have not let us down.
Highly recommended
