This is a picture of a real rail road crossing in Western Australia.  It is just off the main east-west highway in West. Aust. - the Great Eastern Highway.  As I travel this road everyday, this is the ONLY crossing that: 1) Has bells and flashing lights and also 2) goes into nowhere!  There is no road on the "other side of the tracks", just a paddock.

It must have made sense to somebody when they put it in, but it's beyond me!
