Besides their 1001 uses, monofilament fishing lines make very good scale representations of static dischargers found on modern jets. Just cut the appropriate one, glue to the trailing edge, if there is a bump at the end, place a small drop of superglue on it. No more sprue stretcing for static dischargers...
I glue them using superglue only. I do not drill a hole for them, just take a small amount of superglue on a toothpick, drop the end of the line on it and attach to the trailing edge. Sometimes I place very small amounts of superglue to the attachment point after that; using the sharp end of a tootpick. Only when I feel that the bond is not strong enough. Painting with a #0 brush after helps to hide the superglue on the atachment point.I keep them a bit long when gluing, after the glue has dried, I trim them using a nailcuttter. They stay on the wing quite stable, if you accidentally touch them, nothing happens because they are elastic. They bend and come back to the shape after. Just don't try to pull them :)
