Darkening panel
lines
with an
erasable pen

I've been experimenting with a new
technique.....shading panel lines, take an erasable pen, made by Papermate.
They come in black, blue and red, you just
take it through the panel lines, it will not work on rivets, but perfect for panel lines, and if you mess up, no problem, it can be erased.
This must be
done on a flat surface, before gloss coating and decaling. When you erase you
may notice a tiny amount sheen where you did it, but gloss coat will cover
that right up. This is perfect for doing clean planes like an F-15, and dirty
planes like an F-14. For an F-14 dirty look, let the pen dry about half an
hour, then take a damp paper towel and rub lightly in the direction of
airflow. Make sure that it is done before any gloss coating, and if you are
using an enamel gloss coat, make sure the plane is sitting level, or it will
run, if you are using future, or an acrylic gloss coat it works fine.
