"Rigging Bi-planes"

by Jerry Lawrence

--------------------

Wire needs cutting to length. Stretched sprue needs making and cutting to length. Both media are vulnerable on the finished model. Try using Lycra thread. This is the stuff that is incorporated by little old ladies into the cuffs of knitted jumpers to elasticate them. It is amazingly stretchy. Use CA glue to attach one end, cut it somewhat shorter than the required length and, using tweezers, stretch it and use CA to fix the other end.

You can also CA a short length of wire to the free end and thread it through a number of pre-drilled holes to achieve a run of several rigging wires before fixing.

You can now handle your aircraft after rigging without the worry of snagging a 'wire'. The thread is unbelievably forgiving!
