I have a tool I'd like to bring to everyone's attention. A few years ago I became interested in fly fishing and especially fly tying. So I bought a starter kit and then bought a better vice. About $12.00(US) to $20.00 as I recall. The two I have are marked "Thompson" for D.H. Thompson. I'm sure that at a sporting goods store (or a search on the net under the net under D.H. Thompson) will help you find a veriety of these vises.

I have....as yet.....to do any fly fishing, but I found the vice a good tool for other uses. With it's adjustable jaws and angled neck, it is especially useful holding small metal pieces, for filing, soldering, etc.
It can leave depressions in soft plastic, so be careful.

There are various models sold by D.H. Thompson alone......I have included a few pics to give you an idea what these units look like.
