Knowing the
limitations of the Hobbycraft kit, I purchased the Trumpeter kit shortly after
its appearance. However, unfavourable reviews quickly turned it into a shelf
sitter. Later, in the process of eliminating my aircraft model kit inventory
I gathered the courage to deal with this challenge.

I decided upon the
cheaper option through kitbashing the above mentioned kits without any
aftermarket accessory. As suggested elsewhere, I combined the Trumpeter wings
and Hobbycraft fuselage. Wrongly moulded parts of both kits, such as
cockpit, spinner and undercarriage were modified extensively to match with
the scaled dimensions.
Conclusion, indeed
there is no need to rely on the expensive and hard to get aftermarket parts, but
it is not a walk in the park build.
