Hi,

This is my Academy -1/35 scale Huey- UH-1C “HEAVY HOG”. This is my first Helicopter and only the third kit I’ve built since returning to modelling after 25 years.

The kit was built straight from the box, except for some ‘com’ cords in the cockpit. I broke the Crew Chiefs seat during construction, so I managed to obtain a Blackhawk crew seat from a friends spares box. Not ideal I know, apologies.

I also put a 50 Cal in the door to make it look a bit meaner, a bit of artistic licensing really. I used two Humbrol enamels on the finish, Olive Drab for the overall model and matt black for the nose. I also used Humbrol enamel lacquer to seal in the decals.

The base was MDF with a sheet of PSP plating and the Huey then placed on that. I then applied Mig productions Vietnam Earth pigments. The figure came with the kit, but I added some different arms from a Dragon set. This was also painted using Humbrol Enamels.

The jeep is the Italeri 1/35 scale1/4 ton 4x4 Utility Truck, also painted in Olive Drab. Like I say, this is my first proper kit so I apologise in advance for any mistakes.

I hope you enjoy and any feed back would be much appreciated.
