Tamiya's P-47M kit was used to build "Ponnie" a P-47D-28-RA of the 64th FS/ 57th FG for the Britmodeler.com P-47 Group Build, the model was typical Tamiya...no major problems with great fit. The NMF is Alclad Alluninum with ModelMaster enamels, aftermarket extras used were Eduard's P-47M Zoom set, True Details resin wheels and Superscale decals.

Construction was pretty much strait forward, but I added plumbing detail to the wheelbays with .010"-.020" plastic rod, main gear brake lines and linkage using twist-tie wire, plastic rod belly tank plumbing, fine copper wire and plastic rod details to the kit engine and scratch built "bazooka" rocket launchers after I misplaced the kit parts, and finally I added an electric motor and battery mount for the prop.
