1/48 GIIC Fouga Magister

Gallery Article by Ulysses Almeida on Feb 13 2012

This is a 1/48 resin kit with a vacuformed canopy and clear parts. This is not a kit for beginners for it demands a lot of fitting, filling and sanding. After all that, some scribing is in order, and the canopy is a nightmare in itself. The final result, though, is quite good. This elegant jet was operated by the Brazilian Air Force's aerobatic team - Esquadrilha da Fumaça. They purchased seven CM 170-2 Super Magister in 1968 and operated these elegant jets until 1972.

This was pretty much an out of the box assembly. I only added the rack extension of the belly fin - pics 06 & 07.

Still one of the most eye-catching color schemes ever.
