It’s a windy day here in Nova Scotia, so this was a quick photo session. I bought this old Italeri kit from a collector partially constructed. I finished it off with LF Models excellent Cant Z.501 over Spain set, applied over a dull silver. Not a bad ol’ kit by any means. It represents an aircraft flown by Lt. Juan Jose Sanchez Cabal in 1943.(900 HP engine) The “lightning leaves” on the floats and bow are from spares.

I did all the bracing wires and the control cables with 2lb monofilament line, and scratch built a few bit and pieces, such as the mooring cleat on the bow.

I re-scribed the main wing and some other details on the engine pod. I also repositioned the tail control surfaces. It’s my seventh flying boat.
