After I found the cool looking but fictional double seater of the Messerschmitt Me P.1106 AZmodels offers, I quickly bought the kit. The kit of the single seater made by HUMA was waiting for it´s assembly already a few years. The HUMA shows the jetfighter as it was really planned (but never built).

Both Me 1106 were built as serial machines. So the types are Me 1106A (single seater) and Me 1106B (two seater).

The A-Version I built out of the box. The quality of the old HUMA-kit is good, fast and easy to assemble. I added the visor, pitot tube and the antenna. It´s painted in a winter camouflage.

The B-Version from AZmodels got some modifications. To avoid falling on the tail, it needs a lot of extra weight in the nose. I made a chamber above the jet engine therefore and filled it with lead.

The designers of AZmodels gave a larger wingspan to the model. Because of the sweep, this would mean that the CG is moved backward, too. So it would be behind the main gear and the plane would drop on its tail. To make it more realistic I cut off a bit more than the half of the outer wings.  Further I added the antenna and two Ruhrstahl X-4 missiles from Antares Models.
