The EMW A6 (designed by Wernher von Braun) was a planned version of the A4 (V2) rocket. It was a manned research or reconnaissance aircraft with a ramjet and wings. Take off should have been vertical, like the A4 rocket.

After the flight the pilot should land it on an airbase like a usual plane.e

Thre resin kit from Bird Models got some rework. I built the cockpit from scratch, just the seat cames from the kit. Also the bay for the main landing gear was replaced by self made parts. I used a modified landing gear I had left from a F-104 Starfighter. Further I made a new deepdrawn canopy and a matching canopy frame. I also modified the shape of the ramjets intake according to drawings I found in the internet.

After I closed some gaps with putty I sandpapered the model and painted it with brush. First I sprayed shiny clear varnish over it, to make sure that the decals will fit well on it. After attaching the decals I sprayed flat clear varnish over the whole model.

The EMW A6 is exotic mixture out of rocket and plane and is interesting model for my Luftwaffe ´46 collection.
