India Republic Day

India obtained about 140 Hawker Hunter in 1953, The Hunters played a major role in the 65 & 71 Indo-Pak wars and it fought pitched battles against PAF Sabres and Starfighters.

The Academy Kit is a decent kit with good details, but the ejection seat is quite small in comparison. Luckily a friend spared me a resin seat and the ejection cord was scratch built using electrical wire.

There were a lot of fit and alignment issues with the build.  Specially the wing root, had to shoehorn the wings to the fuselage. I have used Mr.Color acrylic paints. and decals used are Trisonic decals (Hawker Hunter in Indian service) by my friend Phil Camp who passed away last year.  So this build is a tribute to Phil.

Wishing everyone a Happy Indian Republic Day ,Jai Hind.
