As my second contribution to ARC in 10 years I would like to present my finished 1:72 model of the Junkers Ju-88 C-6 Nightfighter. The model represents an airplane flown by Heinrich Prinz zu Sayn-Wittgenstein, a highly successful and decorated Nightfighter pilot of WW2.

The kit in question is by "Revell", additionally I added correctly shaped "Quickboost" props, replaced the plastic MG barrels with turned "Master" ones, as well as the plastic FuG202 nose antenna with a finer etched version from "Eduard". The "Schräge Musik" MG 151 cannons on the top of the fuselage were missing completely in the kit, so I added them additionally as well, since they were a crucial component of Wittgenstein's aircraft and a "trademark" of German nightfighter aircraft.

The model was painted using an airbrush and Gunze acrylics. The mottled surface was sprayed freehand with a 0,2mm nozzle. Decals are from the kit (except the historically accurate tail signs). "Standard" weathering means like washings, pigments, chipping etc were applied in the end. The last little improvement to match the original aircraft was the sideways offset antenna at the tail to give way for the upward firing cannons.

Enjoy!
