The model depicts a F4U-1D Corsair of CVG-84, Task Force 58, aboard the USS Bunker Hill between USN fighter sweeps of the Japanese Home Islands in February 1945.

I used an Eduard FE215 PE Set to enhance cockpit detail, and EZ Mask #101 set for canopy masking. A Ultracast 48186 resin set provided the diamond tread wheels. Since I have had trouble with Tamiya decals in the past, I used an AeroMaster 48070 Corsairs & Hellcats II decal set for the model's markings.

Finishing was accomplished using Tamiya acrylic paints.

As usual with Tamiya kits, assembly went well. However, I found the parts required for the folded wings to be quite delicate, and I broke one of the "L" shaped pieces that connect the wing segments. Luckily for me, I was able to obtain a replacement from a fellow modeler.

Happy modeling!
