F/A-18D Hornet
VMFA(AW)-225
There
is actually nothing new to write then already published on ARC about this model
and the Orion decals.
To
build this model, I used the Orion decals (apart from the ruddertips, which I
brushed because the decals didn’t stick to the complex surface of the tips),
Black Box cockpit set and the add on Black Box set for the F/A-18D, Hasegawa
bombs and SLAMMER and Superscale RBF flags.

It
is the most expensive model I ever bought. Everything fits perfectly and no
additional items, apart from the Black Box set, are needed.
I
never found any detailed seat in a Hasegawa box so an additional set of seats
are needed.
The
box goes without engine blades too, so a big gap is visible when looking inside
the intakes. If I had noticed this earlier, I had taken some spare parts from
other boxes to solve this problem. It was also a disappointment when I didn’t
find weapons included in the box. Referring to the price, the least Hasegawa
could do, is enclosing some bombs and missiles. All in all the fitting quality
is very good but, to my opinion, the box is too expensive.
