This is
Revell's fine molded Fw-190 kit. The kit includes an interesting glide-bomb
which is called BV 246 'Hagelkorn'.
This glide bomb
was built after V-1, as a successor. First, Ju-88s were planned as the carrier
plane, but due poor hit percentage of Ju-88s, the Fw 190 was selected. It had a
430 kg. warhead. While the Luftwaffe was testing the Hagelkorn with Fw-190s, an
allied air strike destroyed the entire Hagelkorn inventory on the ground. In
this way the story of Hagelkorn ended, before it starts.

The kit's light
grey plastic parts fitted together well, with Tamiya's green cap liquid glue.
(Thanks to Tamiya for its superb cement). Only a little amount of putty was
used. The kit comes with two Fw-190 models. One is F-8, and the other one is
A-8, the carrier of Hagelkorn. Certainly I made my decision on A-8.
I used Model
Master's RLM colors from the second series. These RLM tones are very realistic,
as the other modelers say.
Weathering was
done with chalk pastels, and finally coated with Testors' Dull Cote. An
accurate, and an interesting 1/72 scale Fw-190 to build. I recommend this to
everyone, who likes this scale and a Fw-190 with a mysterious weapon.
Happy modeling
to you all!...
