1/48 Hasegawa Mexican P-47

Hi Guys - yes another Jug from me. It's the Mexican jug operated and flown by the volunteer Mexican Squadron based at Le Shima towards the end of the war. The squadron was purely a fighter/bomber squadron and saw little or no fighter action. This is my first Hasegawa kit of this - my fave plane - and I was very happy with the build. Only added my usual hydraulic wires on the landing gear, Hyperdermic guns and an antenna otherwise oob.

I used Model Master polishing Aluminium and not the Alclad as I intended (busy with another Jug for that). The decals were from the box and all went down well with Solvaset. I do not like to build "factory fresh birds" so as usual I attacked her with my weathering gear.

A lot of Model Master burnt umber, black wash and artist pastels on top of the Johnsons wax coat and then some Model Master Matt Clear only on the weathered bits. Disregard the pathetic base and background images of my study, but I'm working on a number of purpose-built bases for my future efforts. Come on guys, we need more Jugs.

Cheers

Geoff
