1/72 Republic P-47D Razorback

Kansas Tornado II

Tamiya has done a very good job on this kit.  It`s simply the best on the market.  Recessed panel lines, fully detailed cockpit, crystal clear canopy, etc.  I decided to bulid it straight out of the box, just the markings were changed.  Decals are from an upgrade set by Pavla Models.  They`re very thin, but the white colour is a bit transparent. For the bare metal surface, I used Agama Polishing paints.  After that, the whole kit was airbrushed by Future Polish.  ETO and the Invasion stripes were painted with Tamiya.

Weathering has been done with chalks and silver paint, on the wheels is artificial mud.

This plane was shot down on 1944 on September 11, in France.  Pilot Cpt. H. J. Curran, /405th. FG/510th FS./ was saved and after a few months he was back with his squadron.  This plane crashed near Pont Mousson.
